FeelsBadMan Emote Origin
The first time we saw the FeelsBadMan emote was on 4chan on January 22, 2009. Additionally, a lot of people use the term FeelsBadMan as a phrase and it became popular on Twitch.
The original 4chan article isn’t available anymore. In the beginning, we had the FeelsBadMan emote next to the phrase "You Will Never X". On June 11, 2009, a Polish user uploaded the emote and meme again to Kyon, a well-known Polish website.
The origin of the FeelsBadMan emote brings us back to Matt Furie, Pepe the Frog's comic book creator and cartoonist. In this variant of the internet phenomenon Pepe the Frog, the sad frog is shown with a disappointed face.
On November 30, 2010 the phrase "Feels bad, man" made its way into the Urban Dictionary, but by then it was already popular on 4chan to end a sad story. On December 10th, a website called Feelsbadman.com was created, but it is no longer online.
In 2012 Facebook groups began to appear with the name of this emote, but since 2017 they have been semi-abandoned.
